With or without glass?

The E-Ink picture frame comes with a glass pane by default. While this protects the display, it can also cause distracting reflections. If you want to enhance the paper look and improve contrast, you can easily remove the pane: no tools required.

Here's how to proceed:

Turn the picture frame over

Place the frame face down.

Open side clamps

Press the clamps on the sides open. Caution: The edges can be sharp! Only touch them at the folded part to avoid cutting yourself.

Open battery compartment

Remove the cover of the battery compartment.

Remove wooden back

Lift the back panel of the frame.

Remove side wooden pieces

Carefully pull out the small wooden strips on the sides.

Remove circuit board with mat

Take the entire unit out of the frame.

Remove glass pane

Now you can remove the glass pane: it is no longer needed.

Reassemble the frame

Reassemble the frame in reverse order.

Done! Your E-Ink picture frame is now even more paper-like :)
